I feel so proud to know that fellow Canadians in Quebec choose to keep Canada alive by saying no to Sovereignty and Secession! Since 1995, the percentage of those who would vote yes in a referendum has declined to aprox 40%- a number that clearly does not equal the majority of francophones. Even with the unpopular Harper Federal government in Quebec, this unhappiness I am so pleased to report does not translate into increased support for sovereignty.
This does not sit well with PQ Leader Pauline Marois though. She now turns her focus to other Canadians to advance her “Big Project” . In the next Quebec campaign, her party will run on a Quebec-Canada platform that borrows heavily from her federalist foes. Marois describes her propsed program as sovereignty ” a la piece” but it really is a pastiche of the autonomous regimen pursued with varying degrees of intensity by successive Liberal premiers and by the Action Democratique du Quebec. The differece is their sideshow was to appear to make Quebec more comfortable within Canada, Marois is seeking to make other Canadians more uncomfortable with Quebec! I would urge all Canadians not to fall for tactics like this.
Pauline Marois puts a public disclaimer on her program ” the reforms she seeks are only stopgap measures on the way to full-fledged sovereignty” Fulfilling all of them would not be enough for the PQ to renounce its objective. Those that seek to destroy Canada are under no delusion that such an approach would open Canadian hearts and minds to greater autonomy for Quebec. For some, getting no for an answer is actually the best parts of the plan.
Quebec – Premier Jean Charest said Wednesday that statements by Jacques Parizeau, the Parti Québécois premier at the time of the 1995 referendum, that it would take a “crisis” to achieve the sovereignty of Quebec, reflect the thinking of the current PQ leader, Pauline Marois. Our history over the past two decades does demonstrate that support for sovereignty tends to go over the 50% watermark only when tensions between Quebec and the reast of Canada are high. This is why all Canadians regardless of Province should be on guard for such tricks! These people are desperate with an implicit recognition that enough Quebecers cannot be sold on the merits of sovereignty in all but MANUFACTURED circumstances.
I find it funny that with the next Quebec election at least 3 years away that the PQ would want to focus attention on its plans to re-open the constitutional can of worms. Could this be another move to errode Canadian sovereignty at a time when the nation is weak during this recession?
“The real intention of the Parti Québécois is to provoke a crisis, to harm Quebec,” Charest told the National Assembly on June 8th 2009. “It is unacceptable.” As a side note, the theme for this years conferece was “ADAPTING TO A NEW WORLD ORDER”

With the threat of a looming North American Union, (one of the many steps toward their New World Order) we need to stick together as a country more than ever! A Quebec-Canada crisis would only go to serve those that will be there to offer their solution and let me tell you, their solution has very little to do with protecting Canadian sovereignty but rather Corporate interests hell bent on deep integration with the United States and Mexico. It’s our constitution that protects us from secession and being annexed to the United States. As a United Canada we must guard our constitution from those who seek to tear it apart. Canadian citizens from all provinces including Quebec should be aware of the underlying dangers of Constitutional ammendments or the use of the Clarity Act.
